Janet Jackson’s Greatest Hits Celebrated on Number Ones Featuring 33 Global Number Ones and The New Hit Single ‘Make Me’

Janet Jackson has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, and is one of the best-selling artists in contemporary music. For the first time ever, 33 of Janet’s global #1 hits, plus the newly recorded single, “Make Me,” will be available on one album–NUMBER ONES. Made possible by a partnership between Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) and EMI Music, the two-disc set, to be released November 17, 2009, in the USA (November 23, worldwide titled JANET JACKSON: THE BEST), celebrates the career and artistry of one of the most successful and influential artists in music history.

Among the album’s many highlights is new single “Make Me,” which was produced by Janet and Rodney Jerkins. Along with “Make Me,” NUMBER ONES spans more than 20 years of chart-toppers, every #1 track spun off from Janet’s original albums, from her 1986 blockbuster breakthrough CONTROL to her most recent, 2008′s DISCIPLINE. JANET. sold 20 million albums worldwide, with six hit singles and a nomination for an Academy Award´ for Best Original Song, “Again.” THE VELVET ROPE has sold more than 10 million worldwide, with six hit singles. ALL FOR YOU was Janet’s fifth consecutive album to debut at #1, with more than seven million in worldwide sales. For Janet’s seventh consecutive platinum album, DAMITA JO, Janet took its title from her middle

Janet’s eighth consecutive platinum album, 20 Y.O., acknowledged her love affair with her fans. Janet encouraged her fans around the world to design the 20 Y.O. cover artwork and she chose her favorites for the U.S. pressings. DISCIPLINE was Janet’s 6th number one album and 10th studio album.

Michael Jackson kids wish Janet Jackson becomes their mommy

While Michael Jackson’s mom, Katherine Jackson continues to fend off Debbie Rowe over the issue of custody for the late King of Pop’s kids, it’s Michael’s sister Janet Jackson who has emerged in the eyes of many as the favored caregiver for the three children.

And, sources tell OK!, that appears to be just what Prince, Paris and Blanket want most.“All three want Janet to read to them at night,” a Jackson family friend says. “They just melt into her arms when she walks into the house.”

The feeling is mutual, adds the insider.

“Janet has completely bonded with those children in the last two weeks,” the friend continues. “She has been their rock. It’s clear to everyone that they are looking to her for comfort and guidance.”

Michael’s will names his mother, Katherine as the children’s guardian, but Debbie, the biological mother of the eldest kids, has expressed interest in raising them. All three currently live at Katherine’s Encino, Calif. home.

“[They] are doing great. Mom and Janet are taking care of them,” Michael’s brother Jackie tells OK!

One concern raised is that at 79, caring for three kids might be too much for Katherine, a problem eased by Janet’s presence.

“Janet is not only willing to raise those children, she is also the only relative who knows how to protect them,” the insider tells OK!. “Janet knows the value of a private life and knows how to keep her personal life out of the news. She is determined to do that for Michael’s children. She is saying that he would want no less for them, pointing out how far he went to shelter them.”

Janet to Duet with Michael on Greatest Hits album

Janet Jackson will duet with her late brother Michael Jackson on her new greatest hits album.

Janet, a music icon in her own right, will include “Scream” — her duet with the King of Pop — in her new greatest hits collection Number Ones. The album will also include a new track, titled “Make Me.”

With a hot new pic from famed photographer Mark Liddell, Janet looks stunning in dark shades and lighting. Official album cover art is yet to be released.
