Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – Dr. Conrad Murray, the doctor implicated in the death of pop legend Michael Jackson’s death, will return to a Los Angeles courtroom Monday, most likely to the protest of angry Jackson fans, according to reports.
Monday’s hearing will set a date for a preliminary hearing in the case of involuntary manslaughter against Murray, which a judge has already indicated with start in October and last approximately one week.
The Los Angeles County coroner determined Jackson’s death June 25 of last year was due to an overdose of a potent anesthesia called propofol, reports stated.
Murray admitted giving Jackson the drug, however, his lawyer stated the amount which he gave Jackson was much less than what was discovered in Jackson’s body at the time of the autopsy.
Members of the Jackson family have attended each court session since the doctor’s arrest in February.
Seven other doctors and a nurse who treated Michael will not face criminal charges, according to California authorities.
A California judge denied a request for Murray to stop practicing medicine until his trial. Murray has no California patients, but continues to practice in Nevada and Texas.
