Despite having just welcomed twin boys Nelson and Eddy just months ago, the diva has a new show in fabulous Las Vegas. The new show, simply titled “Celine” debuted at the Caesar’s Palace, showcasing both her greatest hits as well as a surprising tribute to a fellow musician lost: the late and great Michael Jackson.
Though Michael Jackson isn’t the only peer she pays tribute to, with special covers of songs by Journey, Janis Ian and Jacque Brel, Dion recently spoke about some of her memories of the King of Pop.
“I admired Michael a lot…”I’ll never forget the day he came to see my show (A New Day),” she said in an interview ”He sat toward the back. Afterward he came to talk to me. He wanted to know about doing the show, what it took. I think he was interested in maybe doing the same thing on the Strip.”
Whether or not Michael would’ve taken up a show in Vegas may never be known, but you do know this for sure: Celine Dion’s new show seems poised to be a hit.
